Mothers in Madison County, taken seriously.

I started the foundation in 2026. After years of private practice I kept meeting the same wall: the mothers who needed support most often couldn't afford to come through the door. So I built a free one. Three programs, in this county.

Why the foundation exists

Years of private practice told me the same thing every week. The mothers who most need a doula, a postpartum visit, or a place to sit with other women can’t afford the door.

Madison County, Indiana is not Indianapolis. The mothers I sit with in the foundation programs are nurses, teachers, line cooks, factory shift workers, women between jobs, women whose insurance does not cover any of this work. The foundation operates so that none of that is the reason a mother goes without support.

Three programs run free. No application. No background check. No referral required. Just an email saying you’d like in.

Programs

Three programs, free, in Madison County.

All three run on donor and grant funding. None requires referral, insurance, or background check. The only condition for participation is living in or near the county and wanting to be there.

This season

The next NurturHer cohort opens for sign-ups on the first of each month. The Community Support Circle continues twice monthly. A Newborn Care Series cohort is filling for late summer.

Sister site

The foundation is the 501(c)(3) sister to Susan’s private maternal-health practice. The two are independent organizations: the practice serves private-pay clients; the foundation serves Madison County mothers free of charge. Same founder, same county, different doors.
